OMD 2008 ReCap… sort of…

As you all probably know I’m not the kind of recap-writing guy – I simply do not have the time and also am way too lazy for that. Others can do way better and already did so – just check the end of this post for some links Additionally I got a really annoying flu during the weekend and stayed some days in bed. Really lame…

Anyway, just some very short things and thoughts about OMD 08: Besides of not having the chance to walk 20 metres without meeting a known face it was really nice. I started on Tuesday evening with the “metaapes Affiliate Stammtisch” which was really nice, loungy atmosphere, nice drinks and a lot of known faces – so all in all nice networking. After that (must have been sometime around midnight) Max and I checked out the CJ party for some more cocktails After staying for another our we finally ended up at the Doubleclick party which took place at Nachtresidenz – great fun over there, nice music and again some nice drinks, ladies, etc.

Next morning was nice, besides of the “not-so-good” breakfast at Holiday Inn and the really annoying and way too overcrowded sign-in process I had some really great meetings during the day over at OMD and of course a lot of fun. After some serious business we finally started partying again – directly at OMD. Most of the SEOs were having some nice drinks at SEO|maxx, we later also visited the Zanox party and some other booths I really do not remember. Around 7.30 it was time to head over to OMClub (guess what? Yes… party again). Of course we took the amazing stretch limo provided by Bert Wollersheimer. After some snacks the show kicked off – what a freaking blast. To be honest I really do not want to remember what happened over there in detail… but it was just an amazing party. I guess (not sure though…) we’ve been there till around four (cheers Chris) and then also had some drinks at another club. WOW – as you might have expected the following day was really freaking hard. Even though I was told not to look too bad (hahaha, nice…) I didn’t feel really good until around lunch. I finished the day with some more meetings and then finally headed back to Berlin – back at home I felt asleep right away… I’m going to catch some more sleep now – it’s gonna be a long day tomorrow, flying in for Google Developer Day 2008 conference in Munich.
